So Far Santos Doesn’t Suck

Kicker Cairo Santos had his Buccaneer debut, last week, in a 38-35 loss to the New York Giants. Although Santos did not attempt a field goal in his debut, he did hit all five of his extra point tries. A sight for sore eyes!

Santos, taking advantage of his new opportunity, is already showing that he can hold down the kicking position. It is only one game, but in that one game, Santos has shown me enough to begin to renew my faith in the Buccaneers kicking game.

Santos came to the Buccaneers with an 84.1 career FG percentage and a 95.8 career extra point percentage, a silver lining to an otherwise dark cloud that has hung over Tampa for the past few seasons.

Hopefully, when the opportunity to kick a field goal appears, Santos can capitalize on the moment and execute them perfectly as well. But for now, Santos has shown me one thing, and that is that he does not suck at kicking.
