Jalen Ramsey is without a doubt one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL. There have been rumors lately that he is not happy in Jacksonville and that the franchise is possibly willing to trade the talented 25-year old.
The message he posted on twitter on November 12 certainly leads you to believe that there must be at least some truth to the rumor. He tweeted:
When I’m gone from here, y’all gone miss me. I ain’t even trippin lol
— Jalen Ramsey (@jalenramsey) November 12, 2018
There is still a lot of time left until the offseason, but what would Ramsey contribute to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers? Would he make them a better football team as far as talent is concerned? Absolutely! There is not a single doubt about him being the most talented and valuable player on Tampa’s secondary as soon as he puts on pewter and red.
The Bucs have the worst pass defense in the league. Even Brent Grimes is merely a shadow of his former self this season. Ramsey would undoubtedly be a huge addition at a position of dire need for the Buccaneers. However, the asking price will be immense, as pretty much the whole league will make a run at the former Florida State product. So far in his young career, he has a total of 166 tackles and 9 interceptions in only 42 games.
On the other hand, the Jaguars might not trade Ramsey after all. According to Adam Schefter, the Jaguars deny any intentions to trade their star defensive back. Also, Ramsey himself claimed he was not even serious when he made the statement on Twitter (see article HERE).
As of now, the situation is uncertain and only time will tell. If the Bucs end up getting a chance to acquire this playmaker who will instantly boost their defensive backfield, they should definitely try to make it happen.
