In a meeting during the “Coach’s Krewe Night” this evening, HC Bruce Arians and his staff answered questions about the upcoming season. Giving the “Krewe” a glimpse into the nw Bruce Arians regime.
One of the most shocking answer came from a question on personnel. And it was about his impression of RB Peyton Barber commenting (via Pewter Report),

“The guy that I was most shocked by is Peyton Barber. After watching him, we have a running back.”
That’s a pretty confident statement for the new head coach, and all but solidifies Peyton Barber as his lead back. The reason why this comment warrants such attention is that Barber just didn’t impress among the RB unit. He impressed Arians over anyone on the entire roster.
That’s a big deal indeed. With such remarks coming from the coaching staff, it should signal that running back will not be a top position looked at in free agency or the draft in early rounds.
Granted there is a whole off-season for Barber and the team to get through before depth positions are set in stone. It looks like though that he has truly impressed for the moment. Hopefully under Arians lead he can bring out the best in this young running back unit to ultimately become more productive this Fall.
