Buccaneers sign a veteran cornerback.


The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have agreed to a one-year contract with former Panthers/ Falcons/ Chargers cornerback, Robert McClain. McClain a former seventh-round draft pick for the Carolina Panthers has spent three seasons in Mike Smith’s defense while playing in Atlanta.

After playing in Atlanta he had returned to Carolina only to be waived and picked up by the Chargers. In his 8-year career, he has recorded 4 interceptions, 198 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 23 pass defends. and 2 forced fumbles. He will add much-needed veteran depth cornerback back position and will bring solid competition to training camp.
