NFL: Predicting the AFC North

0

Each season, experts try to do their best in predicting things that may happen in the NFL. This starts with predicting the division winners, award winners, playoff teams, and even the eventual Super Bowl Champion. Over the next four weeks, we will do our best to line up each division. Next up is the AFC North.

  1. Cincinnati Bengals

Many people think that I may be crazy not putting the Cleveland Browns in fourth place in this division. However, I do not feel they are the worst team here anymore. They have made thousands of strides to improve and will. The same cannot be said for the Bengals. They went back to Marvin Lewis after saying he would not be renewed. They also let DC Paul Gunther leave or the Oakland Raiders. This team struggled in 2017, finishing 7-9. That was good for third place in the AFC North. Record 6-10.

  1. Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens made some interesting moves this offseason. They brought in several WRs. This is to try to help a struggling offense and Joe Flacco. Additionally, the Ravens drafted Lamar Jackson. Many believe that if the team struggles, he could take over sooner rather than later. I cannot see this team making the playoffs at the end of 2018. What I can see is 2018 being the last of Joe Flacco wearing the Black and Purple. Record 8-8

  1. Cleveland Browns

Yes, the Browns will finish second in the AFC North. How can that be? The main reason is Tyrod Taylor. The Browns averaged a difference of only 11pts per loss. They lost six games by seven points or less. This is a major factor in QB play. Taylor does not turn the ball over. The Browns should be in every game this season. They will be a much more competitive ball club in 2018. Record 9-7

  1. Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers were the best team in the AFC North last season. They will once again be at the top in 2018. This team has a very prolific offense. The Killer Bs – Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown, and Le’Veon Bell – will once again lead the way. This should be a top 10 offense in 2018. They will all have motivation as it could be the final year they are all together. Record 12-4

The AFC North is changing. The Browns are making their move to the top. The Steelers remain the king. The other two teams are beginning transitions.
