NFL: Predicting the AFC East

0

Each season, experts try to do their best in predicting things that may happen in the NFL. This starts with predicting the division winners, award winners, playoff teams, and even the eventual Super Bowl Champion. Over the next four weeks, we will do our best to line up each division. Next up is the AFC East.

  1. Buffalo Bills

Last season saw the Bills return to the playoffs with a little help from some other teams. Mainly the Cincinnati Bengals. Nonetheless, it was a return. Although 2018 does not seem so promising. They will be playing with a new QB under center. At this time, that looks to be Nathan Peterman. Rookie Josh Allen, while he has done some good things, has had a pretty rough camp. I honestly could see this team taking a huge step backward from 2017.

  1. New York Jets

Yes, the Jets are no longer the worst team in this division. They will have their struggles. Especially if they start Sam Darnold at QB. However, their defense will be what propels them out of last place. If they can get some help at pass rush they should be a surprise defense in 2018.

  1. New England Patriots

Their reign over this division is over. We will see the fall of the mighty Patriots from the top of the AFC East in 2018. While they will still be a playoff team and Super Bowl contender, they will have to do it the hard way. The Patriots will have to win a wild card game and play on the road.

  1. Miami Dolphins

Adam Gase will have this team back t the form it was in 2016. They have Ryan Tannehill returning from injury. The team added some weaponry along the offensive front with Mike Gesicki and Durham Smythe. Smythe also brings some blocking strengths with him. In 2016 they lost the division when Tannehill went down. 2018 sings a different song.

While the New England Patriots have owned this division, they will no longer. There is a changing of the guard and that happens in 2018.
