The Nightmare Continues for Bucs’ Defense: Hargreaves Out for Season

0

Last Friday, Tampa Bay found out that it was forced to start the season without their best Cornerback Brent Grimes, who was surprisingly taken out of the lineup because of a groin injury. This increased the role of third year player Vernon Hargreaves, who disappointed mightily last year.

However, in his first game of the new campaign, Hargreaves played a very solid game, recording seven tackles, forcing a fumble which was recovered by Tampa Bay and also breaking up a very important pass from Drew Brees on a third down late in the game, which was also the play where Hargreaves hurt his shoulder and was forced to leave the game.

Bucs have now placed Hargreaves onto the IR and his season is now over with. With Grimes still out, the pressure will be placed onto the shoulders of the rookies and the backup corners. Bucs signed the veteran CB Marcus Williams to help in the secondary and while not overly impressive, he has had his moments where he’s wrecked the house. Hopefully, he will wreak havoc for us in the secondary.
